Accounts, feeds, and member records
Connect one or more Mailchimp accounts with an API key. For each form, create a feed, choose a list, and map form fields to list fields. When a submission is sent, the plugin can create a member if no match exists or update an existing member. Members can be added as subscribed or pending, and selected form fields can be saved as member notes.
Choose when a submission is sent
Supported forms can send entries automatically on submission. Filters let sending depend on user input, such as a checkbox for newsletter subscriptions. A saved Contact Form Entries submission can also be sent manually with the “Send to Mailchimp” action.
Fields available in Pro
The paid edition adds Mailchimp tags, GDPR fields, the phone number field, custom Mailchimp fields, and interest groups. These settings let a feed pass additional contact details and group information to the selected list.
Submission records and visitor data
Mailchimp Logs show whether each form submission was sent. You can resend an entry from the logs. Supported submissions can also include Google Analytics parameters and visitor geolocation. The paid edition includes options to look up a lead’s email and phone through email and phone lookup APIs.
Set up the form connection
- Open “Mailchimp Accounts,” add an account with its API key, and connect any additional accounts you need.
- Open “Mailchimp Feeds,” select a list, and map its Mailchimp fields to fields from the chosen form.
- Submit a test entry. Use the “Send to Mailchimp” action when a manual send is needed.
- Open “Mailchimp Logs” to check the submission status and resend an entry if necessary.
