Which WordPress content can AutoSocial share?
AutoSocial is the Pro edition that extends Auto Publish for Google My Business with publishing support for Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. It can publish posts, pages and custom post types. In the add-on settings, schedule posts, select eligible content types and filter by category.
Set a default message for shared content and use shortcodes in the message. You can change the sharing action for an individual post, or disable automatic publishing by default and choose which items to share.
How does Google My Business publishing work?
For Google My Business posts, AutoSocial uses the WordPress post's featured image as the post image and its link as the call-to-action link. Event posts can include a start date and an end date. This publishing process uses the Google My Business API.
How do you choose locations and destinations?
AutoSocial supports multiple Google My Business locations. Select the locations to use, define default locations and choose destinations for each post. Each post also has an option to prevent sharing, and a share history timeline is available from the WordPress screens for posts, pages and custom post types.
Can you publish updates or show reviews separately?
Create a manual Google My Business post from the plugin settings when an update is not tied to a WordPress post, page or custom post type. You can edit or remove past posts there without opening the Google My Business page.
To display reviews, use the shortcode builder to add them to a post, page or sidebar widget. Preview a review slider or grid, choose presentation settings and manually exclude specific reviews. Reviews update automatically once each day.
How do you get started?
- Install and activate AutoSocial in WordPress.
- Open the plugin settings and configure connected Google My Business locations and publishing preferences.
- Choose content types, categories, default messages and sharing behavior.
- Use post-level controls to select destinations or prevent an entry from being shared.
- For reviews, configure their display and copy the generated shortcode into the post, page or widget area where you want them to appear.
