Pay-as-you-go credits for WordPress email
Zoho ZeptoMail for WordPress connects a self-hosted WordPress site to a ZeptoMail account for transactional messages triggered by user actions, such as password resets, welcome emails, and order confirmations.
The service is free to get started with and includes 10,000 free emails on sign-up. When you need more, you can buy credits from your account. The pay-as-you-go plan charges according to email usage. Sending is subject to the service’s Usage Policy.
Route website notifications through ZeptoMail
The extension customizes WordPress’s PHPMailer library and handles the site’s send-mail action through wp_mail(). Notifications across the site can use the configured ZeptoMail connection without setting it up at every occurrence. This may help when messages sent through PHP’s wp_mail() function fail or reach spam, though delivery is not guaranteed. Listed ZeptoMail advantages include inbox placement, fast delivery, email segmentation, and failed delivery logs.
Configure Agents and message defaults
You can configure multiple ZeptoMail Agents using their associated send mail tokens. Messages go through the selected Agent and its associated domain. In the add-on options, choose the hosted region where your Zoho Account data resides, then set the From Name, From Email Address, default email format, and logs limit. When the limit is reached, older logs are deleted. Choose HTML in the Mail format dropdown to send messages in HTML format.
After configuration, use the Test Email page to check the connection and message settings. Enter a from address, recipient address, subject, and message content, then send the test email.
Setup requirements
Prepare a ZeptoMail account and a self-hosted WordPress site running PHP 5.6 or later. In the plugin’s Account Configuration page, choose the hosted region. In your ZeptoMail account, open the relevant Agent and copy or generate its send mail token from SMTP & API Info. Enter the token and sender details in the plugin, choose the default email format, then save and test the configuration.
