WordPress plugin
TLWP Pro for Temporary WordPress Access
Temporary Login Without Password creates a login link for a developer, support agent, guest editor, or other approved person who needs short-term access to a WordPress site. The recipient signs in by opening the link, without setting up an account or remembering a password.
Set the terms for temporary access
Temporary Login Without Password creates a login link for a developer, support agent, guest editor, or other approved person who needs short-term access to a WordPress site. The recipient signs in by opening the link, without setting up an account or remembering a password.
Choose the temporary visitor’s WordPress role and expiry. Expiry can be set by hour, day, week, month, or custom date. You can also pick a page to redirect the user to after login and set their language.
Control link use and review activity
TLWP Pro adds three controls for overseeing temporary logins:
- Usage limit: Cap how many times a login link can be used.
- Instant admin alerts: Receive a notification each time a temporary login is accessed.
- Full activity log: Review actions performed by each temporary user.
The Temporary Login area also shows the last login time and number of times each temporary user accessed the website. The usage count tracks link access, while the activity log records user actions.
Apply access to a defined task
Create a temporary link for a developer investigating an issue, an agency providing client maintenance, or a writer completing a review. Select a suitable role and expiry for the task. Usage limits and access alerts help track the link, and the activity log is available for later review.
Revoke access when the work is done
You can deactivate a temporary user before the expiry date. Deactivation revokes access immediately and keeps the activity log; you can reactivate the same account later. Deleting the temporary user removes the account and its activity history, so review the log first if you need to retain it.
Create and share a login link
Install and activate Temporary Login Without Password, then open Temporary Login in the WordPress dashboard. Create a temporary user, assign a role, choose an expiry, and set any redirect or language settings. For Pro oversight, configure a usage limit and instant admin alerts, then review actions in the activity log. Share the generated link with its intended recipient and deactivate or delete the temporary user when access is no longer needed.
