Comment filtering and review
Titan checks comments against a global spam database and filtering rules. Pro adds behavioral analysis and background tests, scans existing comments for previously approved spam, and flags suspicious registered accounts. Suspicious comments can be marked as spam before they appear publicly. You can keep filtered comments in the moderation area for review, and processing logs show how comments were handled. A privacy notice can appear under the comment form.
Filtering covers the WordPress comment form. Contact forms, feedback forms, and third-party form add-ons need their own spam protection, and manual spam submitted through a browser may still require moderation. Titan does not require CAPTCHA challenges, though users may face a minimal validation step in rare cases when JavaScript is unavailable.
Login protection and security controls
Titan limits failed login attempts and locks out suspicious activity. Configure retry limits, lockout duration, and trusted IP addresses. Hardening controls can enforce strong passwords, hide author login information, disable XML-RPC, and remove WordPress version details, version query strings, the generator tag, and HTML comments.
Titan's logs record failed login attempts, including IP addresses, retries, and lockouts. The activity logger tracks security events and system actions; an error viewer and diagnostic information export can help with troubleshooting.
Two-factor authentication
Titan Pro adds a second verification step at login. Users can set it up by scanning a QR code or entering a secret key manually when scanning is unavailable. Administrators can enable or manage two-factor authentication for individual users or roles. The capability works with Google Authenticator and other TOTP-compatible apps.
Backups and storage
Schedule automatic backups at defined intervals or create one manually before major website changes. Manage backups from the Titan dashboard and choose remote FTP or Dropbox storage. Automatic archive cleanup removes older backup documents, while adjustable backup speed lets you balance processing time against server resource use.
Setup and ongoing checks
Install and activate Titan on the WordPress site where you need these tools. Use the dashboard to set comment filtering, login limits, hardening controls, two-factor authentication, and backup schedules. Review spam and login activity, test the authentication method with the relevant users, and create a manual backup before substantial changes. Documentation and the support forum provide setup guidance.
