Author boxes for WordPress content
Starbox Pro displays an author profile above or below content. Site owners can select a default theme, then set a various placement or theme for individual authors. Boxes can appear on posts, pages, or both, and can also be added to an author’s special page.
Profile details and links
An author box can show an author’s name, job title, company and a link to the company, along with a biography formatted in paragraphs. Authors can upload an image instead of using Gravatar. Boxes can link to that author’s articles and include a section with the author’s latest posts.
Each profile can have its own clickable links to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Instagram, Flickr, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube, and Vimeo. The capability list also names Google Authorship and Facebook Authorship. Adding Google and Facebook account details to an author profile lets those details appear in the box. The technical feature list names HTML5, Google Microformats, and vCard.
Display options and shortcodes
Choose whether boxes appear above or below content and whether they are enabled for posts, pages, or both. Starbox Pro can conceal the box for selected authors and includes an option to remove another author box from a page to avoid duplicates. The listing also describes compatibility with WooCommerce and other e-commerce plugins.
Use the [starbox] shortcode in a post or widget for a manual show. Its options can specify an author by username or ID, add a custom description, and choose a theme. To display several authors together, provide comma-separated usernames or IDs, such as [starbox id="john, david"] or [starbox id="1,2,3"].
Setup and compatibility
Install and activate the plugin in WordPress, then add author profile and social account details. Select the preferred placement, theme, and content locations. Add a shortcode where a specific author display or placement is needed.
