- Compress images on upload while editing in Elementor.
- Compress user images in Gravity Forms single-file and multi-file fields when the separate Squeeze form uploads setting is enabled.
- Map CDN image URLs to local files for all WebP delivery modes.
- Use the priority support and updates associated with Premium.
Elementor on-upload compression uses Squeeze on upload. Gravity Forms uses the separate Squeeze form uploads setting. The base add-on supports Contact Form 7 uploads when form uploads are enabled.
Compression and image management
Use the Media Library bulk tool to process hundreds of images in one execute, with pause and resume support. Directory Squeeze can process images in a selected folder under the site root. You can also exclude images by URL or filename pattern and keep a .bak copy for restoring originals.
Squeeze has separate quality options for JPEG, PNG, WebP, and AVIF. Selected HEIC/HEIF files can be converted in the browser during supported Media Library uploads. You can set a maximum width or height for original images before compression; this resizing capability is available in the base extension.
WebP delivery options
Direct WebP converts the file on disk to WebP and is the recommended delivery mode. Rewrite src keeps the original files and serves WebP URLs in HTML output. Server delivery keeps existing URLs while .htaccess serves WebP bytes to supporting browsers.
Premium CDN URL mapping connects CDN image paths with local files across all three modes. Squeeze can also process WP Offload Media images when local files have been removed. For offloaded images, Direct WebP is the compatible mode: HTML rewrite sidecars stay in a local folder, and .htaccess rules do not handle requests sent to a CDN. Through WP Offload Media, converted WebP files can be uploaded to S3, Google Cloud Storage, and DigitalOcean Spaces.
Set up and review
In Squeeze settings, choose image quality and a WebP delivery mode, set any exclusions, and decide whether to keep backups. Set maximum dimensions if needed, then process images from the Media Library or a supported editor. Review the before-and-after sizes in the Media Library where available. Optional anonymous usage telemetry is off by default; if enabled, it sends feature events rather than image bytes or filenames.
