Premmerce Permalink Manager for WooCommerce Premium gives store owners a dedicated interface for configuring product and category permalinks. Product URLs can use different patterns from category URLs, so each can reflect the catalog structure.

Product and category URL patterns

Choose a main category when the selected product URL pattern uses one.

• Product slug only
• Product slug with the main category slug
• Product slug with the category hierarchy

Canonical URLs and Premium capabilities

The main extension automatically adds the rel=canonical attribute to duplicate pages and marks similar URLs as canonical. With Yoast SEO installed, the plugin generates no duplicate links.

Premium adds two options: remove the base from product tag URLs and automatically add 301 redirects to duplicated pages. These redirects support navigation when a duplicate page address is encountered.

Compatibility and tested setup

The plugin works with base WooCommerce functionality, Yoast SEO, WPML, WooCommerce Multilingual and Premmerce add-ons. It has also been tested for compatibility with the main WooCommerce plugins.

Testing with the basic WooCommerce setup and standard Storefront theme included stores with more than 100,000 products. Those tests found no noticeable effect on the store's response rate. The plugin is also demonstrated with the Storefront and SalesZone themes.

Setup

1. Install and activate Premmerce Permalink Manager for WooCommerce Premium.
2. Open the store's permalink options interface.
3. Choose URL patterns for products and product categories.
4. Select a main category for product URL generation if the chosen pattern uses one.
5. Enable product tag base removal and use automatic 301 redirects for duplicated pages.
6. Review the resulting navigation and URL behavior.
