Speed Kit is a WordPress request delivery service for sites using Plesk with the Plesk Speed Kit extension. WordPress visitors with an existing Speed Kit license can continue using the add-on; new subscriptions through WordPress are unavailable.

How requests reach the cache

After activation, the extension adds a Service Worker at /speed-kit-sw.js. It routes requests from the WordPress backend through a cache synchronized with the website. Speed Kit works alongside existing systems, CDNs and load balancers, distributes content to edge locations, and also uses the visitor’s browser cache. Its caching works with static files and dynamic content such as search, comments and personalization. Network protocols and tailored pictures are handled automatically.

Site administrators can use allowlists and blocklists to choose which pages and resources Speed Kit handles, and control how often cached content is updated. WooCommerce integration is included. Caching is skipped for logged-in users, WooCommerce sessions with entries in the cart or wishlist, and after repeated cache update failures.

Eligibility and setup

Confirm that the site uses Plesk with the Plesk Speed Kit extension and that an existing Speed Kit license is available. The site must use SSL because Service Workers require it, and WordPress needs permission to write the worker file to the site root. Install and activate the plugin to open its guided setup. The site continues to use its existing IP address; no DNS change or backend server modification is required.

The plugin listing warns that Speed Kit has not been tested with the latest three major WordPress releases and may have compatibility issues with newer versions.

Trial terms and performance checks

The listed terms describe a first 10-day trial with no bank details required, followed by a price of €9.99 per month. Since new subscriptions through WordPress are unavailable, these terms do not provide a new signup route. If no action is taken when a trial ends, Speed Kit stops handling requests and the WordPress backend handles them again; the site remains online.

To compare performance, the listing recommends the Page Speed Analyzer or WebPageTest. Enter the site address in the selected tool. Many other popular performance tools may not give accurate results for sites using Service Workers.
