WordPress plugin
Lean Player Pro
Lean Player Pro manages video players, audio players and playlists in one WordPress admin area. Choose YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Vimeo, HTML5 video or audio files. Upload files through the media library or use a direct URL or CDN link. The player works with any theme and works with vertical video that fits the screen without stretching or distortion.
Publish video and audio in WordPress
Lean Player Pro manages video players, audio players and playlists in one WordPress admin area. Choose YouTube, YouTube Shorts, Vimeo, HTML5 video or audio files. Upload files through the media library or use a direct URL or CDN link. The player works with any theme and works with vertical video that fits the screen without stretching or distortion.
- Video: MP4, WebM and OGG, as well as YouTube, YouTube Shorts and Vimeo.
- Audio: MP3, OGG, WAV, M4A, AAC and FLAC. OPUS works from a direct URL or CDN link, but cannot be uploaded through the WordPress media library.
- Live audio: Icecast, Shoutcast and other servers that provide a direct stream URL. On an HTTPS site, the stream must also use HTTPS because browsers block plain HTTP audio.
Configure and embed players
Set default behavior in Global Player Settings, then override it for individual players. Player categories help organize a larger library. The players list shows each item's type, source, autoplay status and copy-ready shortcode. Preview a player from the list or edit screen, and see configuration changes in the live preview as you work.
Embed players with a shortcode, an Elementor widget, the Block Editor or the Classic Editor. Elementor video and audio widgets expose player options in the editor; saved-player and source-override options can also work with dynamic tags. The playlist widget embeds a saved playlist without a shortcode.
Set playback and playlist behavior
Choose autoplay, start-muted, volume, loop and playback-speed settings. Media Preload lets you load basic information, wait until a user presses play, or begin loading immediately. Keyboard shortcuts and five built-in layouts are available. Pro adds options such as pausing other players when playback starts, changing the time show, and hiding controls during playback.
Create video or audio playlists and choose the panel position, light or dark appearance, list layout and automatic advance to the next track. Pro adds options including a grid layout, automatic thumbnails and automatic duration filling for supported uploads, YouTube and Vimeo videos, and direct file links. Live streams have no duration, and sources that block the request may remain blank.
Link to a moment in a recording
Add a timestamp link where it belongs in your post content, for example [lean_timestamp time="1:30"]Jump to intro[/lean_timestamp]. When selected, the link seeks the player to that time and starts playback without reloading the page. This can help readers navigate podcast notes, course sections or video reviews.
Pro access controls and Bunny integration
Pro access settings can limit a saved player or playlist to everyone, logged-in visitors, logged-out users, selected WordPress roles, members of a Paid Memberships Pro or MemberPress level, or visitors with a password. Individual playlist episodes can have their own access setting. Locked content can show a login or join button, and the access check works with page caching. It keeps the media link out of the page for visitors without access, but it does not protect a file from someone who already has its direct address. YouTube and Vimeo privacy also depends on the settings at those services.
Pro's Bunny integration can connect to Bunny Stream or a Bunny Storage zone, browse libraries or folders, or use a link. Protected libraries and zones use signed links that renew on cached pages, and the keys stay on your server. A plain Bunny Storage file link can also be used as a direct media URL when token authentication is off.
Get started
Install and activate the add-on in WordPress, make a player or playlist in the admin area, and choose its source, playback options and appearance. Use the preview while configuring it, then embed the saved player or playlist with its shortcode or the relevant Elementor widget.
