Policy scope and password rules
Administrators can apply policies site-wide or to selected roles, such as administrators, editors, and members. Password options include minimum length, character requirements, expiration, password history restrictions, and resets at first login. Administrators can also disable password reset links.
Accounts and login lockouts
Administrators can lock an account manually or configure automatic disabling for inactive WordPress users. A dashboard gathers inactive accounts for review. When an account is unlocked, administrators can require a password reset. For failed login attempts, they can configure the lockout duration and the method used to unlock an affected account.
Devices, sessions, and login access
- Receive email alerts when a login is detected from an unrecognized device.
- Remotely terminate a session associated with an unrecognized device.
- Extend or shorten session timeouts.
- Limit access to the login page by IP address.
- Change the WordPress login URL, then set the old URL to return a 404 response or redirect to a selected page.
- Add a GDPR consent notice to the login page.
Sensitive actions and temporary access
Administrators can require security questions for sensitive actions, including password resets and account unlocks. Temporary login access can be provided through links that expire or have usage limits, without creating additional user accounts. If suspicious behavior requires an immediate response, administrators can reset all users’ passwords with one click.
Role-based processes and integrations
Role-based policies let administrators set different password and login requirements for user groups. They can review inactive accounts from one dashboard, lock accounts that no longer need access, and require a new password when access is restored. For an unfamiliar-device login, an email alert and the option to terminate the associated session provide ways to respond.
The plugin supports one-click integration with third-party add-ons, including WooCommerce, LearnDash, and MemberPress.
Installation and setup
Install and activate Melapress Login Security Premium on the WordPress site, then open its settings. Choose whether each policy applies site-wide or to particular user roles, and review the account, device, session, IP, and consent settings. Before applying restrictions broadly, check the configured lockout and recovery methods so administrators can manage affected accounts.
