Review the media library
Media File Renamer Pro is the paid edition of Media File Renamer, with added tools for renaming files and organizing WordPress media. Work on individual files or filter the library by Pending, Renamed, and Locked status to see what needs review.
Choose names and organize files
AI Vision analyzes pictures to generate filename ideas, while smart suggestions help you select a name. Pro also supports anonymizing files for privacy-focused organization and numbering them when a collection needs a predictable sequence. For multiple files, use bulk directory moves to reorganize their locations.
Keep media details in sync
After renaming, synchronize the media record’s Title, ALT Text, Caption, and Description fields. Lock files to prevent accidental renaming, with an option to auto-lock after manual or automatic renames.
Check compatibility and references
The plugin supports Retina and WebP images, resized images from WordPress 5.3 onward, PDF thumbnails, UTF8 files, and optimized images. It handles various encoding types. Some page builders, including Avia Layout Builder, may limit renaming because of encryption.
Renaming or moving files can affect references, so back up the site first. Try one file and check that its references update correctly before working through more of the library. If a renamed file appears incorrectly because of caching, clear the cache. Use Undo to revert filenames if a change causes a problem.
Start with one file
Install Media File Renamer Pro in WordPress and open the media renaming workspace. Review files by status, try a single picture, and check the result. Then use the available renaming, metadata, locking, numbering, anonymization, or bulk move options as needed, reviewing changes before applying them across the library.
