Install and activate the JivoChat WordPress extension, then open the JivoChat section in the WordPress toolbar. Create an account or connect an existing one. Next, install the agent app on a computer or mobile device, or use the browser-based app. Configure the widget’s position, appearance, behavior, and text; it can also be hidden and shown again.
Keep customer messages and calls in one workflow
Agents can handle site chats alongside messages from Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Apple Business Chat, Telegram, a support email address, and phone. When agents are unavailable, visitors can leave an offline message in the inbox. The team can follow up later when the user provides an email address.
A callback starts with a visitor entering a phone number to request a call. Separately, a connected phone number lets agents make or receive calls through JivoChat. Agents can transfer chats to colleagues or invite them into an open conversation. Team chat works with staff communication, and reminders can prompt an agent or colleague to follow up on a conversation.
The archive stores visitors and conversations without a stated limit, and the conversation history loads when an agent chats with a returning customer. Visitors can contact the team through the widget even when a live reply is unavailable.
Use visitor activity to time conversations
Visitor monitoring shows website activity in real time. Smart triggers can start a chat when conditions selected by the team are met. Geo-IP-based behavior can show a various widget for a city or country, including changes to its language, behavior, or assigned agents.
Keep customer context with each conversation
The in-app CRM tracks customer statuses and comments. Customer records can include email, phone, assigned agents, tags, conversation history, and visit source. Teams can connect a preferred CRM; JivoChat also lists Webhooks and a JavaScript API for CRM integration and widget behavior.
Other listed tools include an automatic translator for live chats in both directions, quick phrases and canned responses, and typing insights that show a visitor’s message before they send it.
Check compatibility before installation
The plugin directory notes that the plugin has not been tested with the latest three major WordPress releases and may have compatibility or support issues.
