Publish videos as part of your WordPress site
Jetpack Complete includes VideoPress, a customizable, ad-free video player and hosted library for WordPress. Add a video from the WordPress Editor with the Jetpack VideoPress Block, or upload a local file to the VideoPress cloud library and select it through the media process. Visitors can watch the published video on your site.
This setup supports websites that publish lessons, films, demonstrations, interviews, presentations, or blog videos. It can suit videographers, filmmakers, educators, bloggers, and other site owners who want video in their WordPress publishing workflow.
Manage a shared video collection
The VideoPress Dashboard offers a central place to work with the library. Browse it in multiple views and filter videos by rating or privacy setting. Teams can use unlimited logins to work on the same site.
Set playback for different screens and connections
Hosted video storage and a video CDN support delivery to audiences in different locations. Playback adapts to bandwidth and show size, and viewers can choose a quality in the player menu. The player supports resolutions up to full 4K, including 1440p and 60 FPS, with mobile-optimized playback for phones and desktop viewing.
- Use picture-in-picture to pop a video out of the browser.
- Add subtitles, captions, or chapters as text tracks through the VideoPress block.
- Set privacy settings and poster images when preparing a video.
- The seekbar color adapts to scenes in the video.
Check storage and upload limits
The paid plan included in Jetpack Complete supports unlimited videos and up to 1 TB of total storage. Individual files can be up to 5 GB. A slower network may time out before a large upload finishes.
Prepare a video for publication
Install and activate Jetpack on your WordPress site, then use the Jetpack Complete plan, which includes VideoPress. Open the VideoPress tools and upload a local video to the cloud library, or add a video directly with the Jetpack VideoPress Block. Before publishing, configure the available player and privacy settings, add a poster picture if needed, and attach subtitles, captions, or chapters as text tracks.
