API access and report capacity
An API account is required to connect the add-on, and account registration is free. Additional credits are available through the GTmetrix PRO tab. The credits provide capacity for analyses requested through the API.
Choose a schedule and set alerts
Set reports to run daily, weekly, or monthly. The extension can also send alerts when the site falls below certain criteria, prompting an administrator to review the related GTmetrix information. It includes monitoring and reporting through the API, not separate site optimization features.
Install and configure access
- Upload the plugin to your WordPress site's
/wp-content/add-ons/directory. - Activate it from the Plugins menu.
- Open the new plugin menu item and enter your GTmetrix API details.
Only administrators can use the plugin by default. It makes the access_gtmetrix capability. An administrator can assign that capability to other roles with a role-management plugin such as Members or User Role Editor.
