Import WP Pro extends Import WP for sites that need to bring CSV or XML data into custom WordPress content. Install and activate Import WP first, then use its visual selector to map columns, XML nodes, or attributes to WordPress fields. Source files do not need a fixed layout.

Set up imports and match entries

Create an importer from a local upload, remote URL or data feed, FTP server, published or downloadable Google Sheet, or a file on your web server. CSV settings include the delimiter, enclosure, and character encoding. For XML, set a document base path to identify each record; map nodes or attributes, or use XPath when needed.

Import WP handles standard WordPress content, including posts, pages, visitors, and attachments. Pro includes imports for custom fields, custom post types, and custom taxonomies. Use a unique identifier to match records for insert or update operations, then choose whether the importer can insert, update, or delete records. You can schedule recurring imports, skip unchanged records on repeat runs, and review import history and logs.

Work with media, integrations, and exports

Import pictures and other attachments from remote URLs, FTP, the local filesystem, or the WordPress media library. Reuse existing media to avoid duplicates, and map attachment titles, captions, alternative text, and descriptions.

Free add-ons support WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, Rank Math SEO, Polylang, WPML, and BLM property feeds. The WooCommerce add-on handles products, variations, images, attributes, categories, prices, and stock. Import WP Pro is required for the Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and JetEngine add-ons, which import and export their respective data.

The built-in exporter creates CSV, XML, or JSON files from WordPress data. Select fields, filter records, customize CSV headings, and set XML node or attribute names. Exports can include posts, pages, taxonomies, custom fields, media, terms, and related data; nested XML is available for repeating data.

Run an import

1. Create an importer and select a source file.
2. Set file settings and map source data to WordPress fields.
3. Configure record matching and insert, update, or delete permissions.
4. Run the importer, then review its log and history.
