Choose update rules and timing
- Safe mode: checks compatibility with your WordPress version and the server’s PHP version.
- Scheduled automatic updates: pick when updates run to help avoid unwanted downtime.
- Delayed updates: postpone automatic updates during hotfixes or periods of frequent releases.
- Version control protection: prevent updates to add-ons and themes under version control.
- Plugin checks: check plugins that have been removed from the Plugin Directory.
Third-party plugins and themes use different update mechanisms. Most work with Easy Updates Manager, but compatibility cannot be guaranteed for every provider.
Backups, logs, and email reports
Easy Updates Manager Premium can integrate with UpdraftPlus to make a backup before your site is updated. Logs record what was updated and when. External logging can send alerts when new updates are logged, and a log clearing schedule can remove entries on a schedule you choose.
Export logs for printing or download them as CSV or JSON for a selected date range. Email notifications can provide weekly or monthly reports of pending updates. Set recipients using one email address or multiple addresses separated by commas.
Settings, privacy, and integrations
Import and export options to transfer configuration between sites. Premium also integrates with UpdraftCentral and works with webhooks that connect to third-party services to run automatic updates through cron or Zapier.
Anonymization controls what information is sent to the WordPress API. White-label settings disable notices and tailor what clients see. You can also hide plugin and theme updates when custom-developed components need different handling.
Configure a site or network
After installing and activating Easy Updates Manager, open Update Options in the WordPress dashboard to configure update rules, scheduling, backups, logs, notifications, integrations, and white-label preferences. For Multisite, network-activate the plugin and apply the available controls to your network’s administration needs.
