Extend product rules across your catalog

CBR PRO is the paid edition of Country Based Restrictions for WooCommerce. It builds on per-product country rules with tools for managing product groups, storefront behavior, payment methods, and checkout across larger catalogs.

An inclusion rule allows sales only in selected countries. An exclusion rule blocks sales in the selected countries. The add-on checks the customer’s shipping country when available and falls back to WooCommerce Geolocation with MaxMind GeoIP2 when no shipping country has been set.

From individual products to catalog-wide rules

Apply restrictions in bulk by category, tag, attribute, or shipping class, or set a global rule across all products. CSV import can bring country rules into hundreds of products at once. Bulk actions in the product list can remove single-product rules, and restrictions can also apply to individual variations within variable products.

Choose what restricted customers see and can do

Visibility settings determine how a restricted product appears: conceal it from the shop, search, and category pages; hide it from shop and search while keeping its direct URL accessible; or leave it visible without allowing purchase. CBR PRO also lets you hide prices by country, display custom restriction messages, or redirect restricted users to a custom page.

• Disable selected payment gateways, such as PayPal or Stripe, for customers from restricted countries.
• Let customers change their detected country using a storefront country detection widget.
• Enforce checkout restrictions so blocked products cannot be ordered through another route.
• Use the WooCommerce Cart and Checkout blocks.

Review activity and test changes

Restriction analytics rank the countries and products that trigger rules most often and show trends over time. Demand signal tracking entries blocked attempts by country, which can help identify where visitors seek products that are not currently offered.

Admin debug mode lets administrators preview the store as a user from a selected country. Test visibility, messages, payment methods, and checkout behavior before applying rule changes to customers.

Country detection and store fit

Country rules can help WooCommerce stores manage territory-based distribution, regional licensing, shipping limits, or product ranges that vary by country. Example catalogs include alcohol, tobacco, CBD, supplements, pharmacy supplies, licensed merchandise, digital goods, tools, dropshipped products, and wholesale products.

Detection depends on the country information available, and visitors may work around geolocation. Caching extensions or CDNs can also serve pages without running the country check; configure caching to exclude geolocation cookies and country detection. Storefront restrictions do not establish legal or sanctions compliance.

Set up and apply rules

Install and activate the extension, then go to WooCommerce > Country Restrictions to configure default visibility settings. Add rules or import them by CSV, choose the visibility and checkout behavior, and use admin debug mode to test representative countries before applying the rules to customers.
