Create and organize links

BetterLinks Pro extends WordPress link management for campaigns, affiliate URLs and larger link libraries. Create a short link from a destination URL with a custom or generated slug. Links are served from your site, and click data is stored in your WordPress database. Pro also supports custom domains for branded short links.

Group links with categories and tags, then search, filter, favorite, duplicate, reorder or apply bulk actions. List, board and compact views help you work with the collection. Custom fields hold link metadata, while API-key-based Quick Link Creation can make links from outside the WordPress admin. CSV import and export and migration tools can help move link data.

Set redirect rules and link controls

BetterLinks supports 301, 302 and 307 redirects, wildcard path matching, query-string forwarding and case-sensitive slugs. Pro cloaking keeps the branded short URL visible in the browser address bar during a visit. Dynamic redirects can select a destination by location, device or time, and A/B split testing can compare destinations.

Pro also includes password protection, scheduled links, expiration dates with a fallback URL, and Force HTTPS. Open in App can send visitors from in-app browsers to supported native apps, including Amazon, YouTube, TikTok, Spotify and Instagram.

Measure campaigns and manage affiliate links

Click reports include total and unique clicks, referrers, countries, browsers, operating systems and devices. Per-link analytics help review individual URLs. Google Analytics 4 and Facebook Pixel integrations can send click events server-side. The UTM builder adds campaign parameters, and Pro adds reusable UTM templates.

Affiliate tools can automatically link selected keywords across your website, add nofollow or sponsored attributes, and display disclosures through a block, shortcode or site-wide rule. Link scheduling and expiration help manage promotions. Pro's broken-link scanner and full-site scanner can check short links and published content, with scheduled scans and email reports.

Connect AI assistants through MCP

BetterLinks includes a built-in MCP server for supported AI assistants, including Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. Its tools can create, update and delete links, manage categories and tags, read click analytics, and read or update options.

MCP is off by default. Claude and ChatGPT can connect through a one-time OAuth approval; Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code use a copy-and-paste command. Access is scope-aware, so read-only requests remain read-only. Each action uses the permissions of the administrator who approved the connection. Connections can be revoked, tokens reset, and the built-in health check can identify a failed connection step.

Set up the plugin

Add BetterLinks Pro to your WordPress site, activate it, and open its settings to configure link management, analytics, integrations and the Pro capabilities your workflow needs. To use MCP, enable it in BetterLinks and approve the connections and access scopes you want to use.
