Auto Featured Image Pro creates and assigns featured images for WordPress posts. It can help fill gaps in existing content and support recurring publishing processes, with several ways to pick an image for each post.

Choose how images are assigned

• Find in post: use the first image in the post content.
• Generate from title: make a text-based image using the post title.
• Find or generate: use an image from the content, or generate one when none is found.
• Find or use default image: apply a predefined fallback when no image is found.

Target posts and manage generation

Filter content by post type, post status, category, or date range to control which posts are included. Pro also supports advanced post type targeting and scheduled generation. The generation screen processes posts in bulk, shows real-time progress, and logs the last 100 generated images with a preview, size, method, and status.

From the Posts list, bulk actions let you generate, set, or remove featured images without opening each post individually. Filters and scheduled runs can support both archive cleanups and recurring work; the selected method determines whether images come from post content, titles, or a fallback.

Style title-based images

For images generated from titles, choose gradient backgrounds or upload custom background images. Layout controls include Google Fonts, custom font documents, horizontal and vertical text alignment, text before or after the title, and custom padding. A live preview shows the background, font, alignment, colors, and layout before you save settings and generate images.

Search external image sources

Search and choose images from Unsplash and Pixabay in the WordPress dashboard. Selected images can be uploaded automatically to the Media Library, so image selection and featured-image assignment can happen from the same administration area.

Set up a generation run

Install Auto Featured Image Pro and open its dashboard. Choose a generation method, set the post filters and styling settings, review the preview where applicable, and start generation. For recurring work, configure scheduling and targeting before running the process.
