Menus based on WordPress page and category relationships

Advanced Sidebar Menu Pro builds page and category menus from parent and child relationships defined in WordPress. The current page, post, or category supplies context, so each menu can show related items as users move through the site. The Pro edition also supports navigation menus, custom post types, and custom taxonomies.

Depending on the selected options, a page or category menu can include the current item, its parent, child items, grandparent, grandchild, or first-level related children.

Place menus in blocks or widgets

Gutenberg blocks are available for page, category, and navigation menus. Add them to page or post content, widget areas, the Theme Customizer, or the Site Editor where WordPress supports blocks. Widgets are also available for classic widget setups and page builders, including Elementor and Beaver Builder.

Choose menu content and show levels

• Customize the link text for page, category, and navigation menu items.
• Exclude a page from all menus with a checkbox.
• Choose whether to show the highest-level parent or a menu containing only that parent.
• Set how many page levels to show when child pages are not set to always display.
• Choose whether child pages or categories always appear, and select their levels.
• Set the ordering for category menus.
• Select and display custom post types and custom taxonomies.

Category menus can appear on single post pages based on the categories assigned to the current post. Each category can appear in its own widget or block, or categories can share one list.

Style links and set accordion behavior

Click-and-drag controls let you style page, category, and navigation menus. Link settings include text color, background color, size, hover appearance, and font weight. You can set styles for different link levels, the current page or category, and its parent. Border settings include width and color. Choose from seven bullet styles or remove bullets.

Accordion controls are available for page, category, and navigation menus. Set the icon style and color, whether sections stay closed until clicked, whether to include the highest-level parent, and whether links open and close sections.

Install and configure

Install Advanced Sidebar Menu Pro in WordPress, then add a page, category, or navigation menu block or widget to a supported location. Choose the relationships, display levels, ordering, exclusions, styling, and accordion settings for the website structure. The menu is generated according to the current page, post, or category and the options you select.
