Admin Bar Editor Pro extends the free Admin Bar Editor add-on with controls for the WordPress toolbar in the dashboard and on the public site. Use its options page to pick which items appear, arrange them, and tailor the frontend bar for various users.

Choose what appears in each view

In Backend, toggle core toolbar items such as the WordPress logo menu, website name, Visit Site link, updates, comments, and the New menu. You can also manage built-in submenu entries, including Post, Media, Page, and User, then reorder items with drag-and-drop handles.

In Frontend, manage the toolbar shown on the public site, including its items and order. A global setting can disable the frontend admin bar. Where applicable, you can choose whether it appears for logged-in users or guests. The Advanced section lets you move the bar to the top or bottom of the screen; the position applies to both views.

Set visibility and add shortcuts with Pro

Pro lets you hide the frontend admin bar for selected visitor roles or individual usernames while keeping it visible for others. You can also add top-level menu items and submenu entries with custom titles and URLs, giving relevant users direct links to dashboards, tools, documentation, or other destinations.

Adjust the toolbar’s appearance

Pro styling controls let you set a solid or gradient background, change toolbar text color, personalize dropdowns, and adjust the style and color of the New button.

Save your settings to apply the layout. The configuration is stored in the database and retained through updates. Deactivating the extension restores the default WordPress admin bar; reactivating it brings back the saved options.

Install and configure

1. Install the free Admin Bar Editor plugin.
2. Install Admin Bar Editor Pro alongside it.
3. Activate the Pro plugin and its license to unlock Pro features.
4. Open the AdminBar Editor page and configure the Backend, Frontend, and Advanced settings.
