Field-specific code for theme templates

After you publish, edit, or update an ACF Field Group, ACF Theme Code PRO displays a Theme Code section at the bottom of its editing page. The generated implementation code reflects the field names and settings you configured. Use the clipboard icons to copy code blocks into theme templates.

The generated code follows the official Advanced Custom Fields documentation and includes output escaping. The add-on also supports selected third-party fields.

ACF PRO fields and capabilities

The PRO edition supports the Repeater, Flexible Content, Gallery, and Clone field types. It also supports ACF Blocks and Options Pages, alongside standard ACF fields.

Register field group locations

On the ACF Tools page, the Theme Code Location Registration Tool generates code for field group locations, including more complex locations. Supported types include Block, Options Page, Widget, Taxonomy, Comment, Attachment, Current User, and User Form.

From field group to theme template

1. Create or edit an ACF Field Group.
2. Configure its field names, settings, and locations for the project.
3. Save or update the field group.
4. Open the Theme Code section to review the generated implementation code.
5. Use the clipboard controls to copy relevant code blocks into theme templates.

The resulting code is tailored to the configured fields, including supported complex fields and features.

Requirements and installation

Use ACF Theme Code PRO on a WordPress site with Advanced Custom Fields or ACF PRO version 5.8.9 or higher. Once the required ACF add-on is available, install and activate ACF Theme Code PRO, then create or edit a field group to access the Theme Code section.
