Set up recurring products and services

YITH WooCommerce Subscription Premium lets stores sell physical, virtual, or downloadable products through recurring plans. It also supports services and offers such as training, memberships, consulting, coaching, and hosting. Choose a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or other selected payment schedule. Simple, virtual, and downloadable products can have subscription plans, and product variations can use different plans and prices.

Customers can review subscription information in the My Account area. Store managers can manage subscription terms and payment-related statuses through WooCommerce.

Set billing dates and payment rules

A plan can include a trial period before a customer subscribes, a sign-up fee, or payment dates synchronized to a selected day of the week, month, or year. For example, monthly payments can be aligned to the first day of each month.

Order and payment events can change a subscription's status. Canceling an associated order can cancel its subscription, and a failed periodic payment can suspend it. With Stripe or PayPal, three failed payment attempts can automatically set the subscription to “Canceled.” You can postpone automatic status changes for active, overdue, and suspended subscriptions by a selected number of hours.

Customer controls and access

Customers can use Renew Now to force payment after the first failed attempt. They can also pause a subscription a specified number of times and resume it later. When a paused subscription resumes, its expiration date updates accordingly.

Access to subscription content can continue after expiration while payment is pending. Alternatively, access can be suspended on the expiry date without deleting the subscription. Customers can resubscribe from My Account under the same conditions as their expired plan.

Schedule deliveries and configure boxes

For subscription deliveries, synchronize shipments to a selected day, such as a particular weekday or the first day of the month. You can print a PDF list of shipping labels with delivery addresses and charge shipping once during the subscription period using one-time shipping.

The Subscription Box module lets clients sign up for a box and pick the quantities and types of products it contains.

Install and configure the add-on

Install and activate the plugin in a WooCommerce store, then make a subscription product. Choose its recurring schedule, set any trial period or sign-up fee, and configure payment and status behavior. Review the customer-facing information in My Account. For delivery products, configure shipping and synchronization rules before publishing the offer.

The payment and failed-payment workflows identify PayPal and Stripe. WooCommerce PayPal Payments is available for PayPal-based processing. Compatibility with every theme is not guaranteed. Themes developed according to WordPress and WooCommerce guidelines are generally compatible, and YITH themes are continually updated and tested with YITH plugins.
