Product setup determines wrapping and cart treatment

Gift Wrapper PLUS for WooCommerce treats gift wrapping as a WooCommerce product. Each wrapping product can have its own price, description, and image, and can be inventoried, discounted, and taxed separately. The same setup can support other cart add-ons, such as condiments for food orders or accessories for electronics. You can create as many wrapping products or other add-on settings as needed.

Per-product settings determine which wrapping choices appear for particular items. You can assign various wrap products to cart items, add more than one wrap product to an item, and add, edit, or remove wrapping in the cart.

Display choices and availability rules

On product pages, wrapping can appear in a modal or slideout, or as a checkbox that includes wrapping for a specified price. In the cart and at checkout, choose a static slide-down layout, checkbox view, or modal. Gift wrap pictures can be shown or hidden in cart and checkout. Modal entrance and exit effects use animate.css, which supports more than 1,500 possible animations.

Control the product-to-wrap ratio for line-item offerings, or exclude individual products and entire product categories from wrapping. A selected wrap can appear as a product attribute or a separate cart line. Separate lines allow wrapping to receive its own tax, inventory, or other WooCommerce product treatment.

Customer notes and integrations

Customers can add an optional gift wrap note with their selection. The intended message can be included in the email order notification and displayed on the order page, and the customer receives confirmation on the receipt.

An Elementor Pro widget is available for cart, checkout, and product pages. The add-on's output is CSS-tagged and templated for customization. Listed compatibility includes WooCommerce Mix and Match Products, WooCommerce Composite Products, and the CartPops AJAX fly-out cart.

Setup and cart compatibility

1. Install and activate the Gift Wrapper extension in your WooCommerce store.
2. Create at least one WooCommerce gift wrap product with the details you want customers to see.
3. Configure the available wrapping products, prices, descriptions, images, and per-product rules.
4. Choose whether options appear on product pages, the cart, checkout, or in more than one location.
5. Test the cart and checkout presentation, customer note flow, order page details, and email notification.

The plugin is intended for the traditional WooCommerce cart and checkout shortcodes. It is not compatible with block-style Gutenberg cart and checkout pages. Troubleshooting notes identify WooCommerce 7.2 or newer as a version point to check.
