WPSpeed PRO: WordPress caching and performance optimization
WPSpeed PRO extends WPSpeed optimization to all pages. The free edition optimizes the homepage and allows full optimization on one page; PRO removes those listed usage limits, unlocks the full image optimization rules, and enables static HTML caching through .htaccess.

Serve cached pages with less WordPress processing
When .htaccess caching is enabled, WPSpeed can serve cached pages as static HTML without executing WordPress for those responses. This reduces the processing involved in serving them and may lower TTFB and server load. Adaptive Contents generates a lightweight version of the website intended to improve PageSpeed scores while preserving functionality. Instant Page uses just-in-time preloading to load the next page before a visitor clicks it.
Manage images and deferred content
PRO unlocks the full image optimization rules. WPSpeed can resize and optimize images, including background images, apply lossless optimization to PNG and JPG documents, and create responsive srcset variants in up to four sizes. It can also convert images to WebP and AVIF. Lazy loading is available for images, iframes, and heavy HTML components so offscreen or otherwise deferred content loads when needed.
Control front-end assets
Minification reduces JavaScript, CSS, and HTML file size and removes whitespace. WPSpeed can combine JavaScript and CSS files into fewer requests, extract above-the-fold CSS, and load remaining styles asynchronously. CSS, JavaScript, and web fonts can also be deferred, loaded asynchronously, or preloaded. Resource controls can remove unused CSS, JavaScript, and fonts, and rewrite asset URLs to a CDN. DOM reduction can remove excess elements and load heavy blocks asynchronously. HTTP/2 server push is supported on compatible servers, and an exclusions system helps manage conflicts with scripts and styles.
Configure and review the result
Automatic configuration is designed to find suitable settings for a website, and Google PageSpeed Insights testing is integrated into the plugin. After installing and activating WPSpeed PRO, use these utilities to review settings, enable the options the site needs, and check the resulting pages to confirm their content and functionality work as expected. The optimization and resource controls may also be useful on sites using Elementor or other substantial page-builder assets. WPSpeed addresses loading performance and Core Web Vitals such as LCP, CLS, and INP; results depend on the site and its configuration.
