wpLingua Premium: Automatic Translation for WordPress
wpLingua Premium adds automatic translation to WordPress sites, supporting up to 25 target languages with unlimited translated words. The add-on analyzes page HTML and JavaScript to find text, then generates machine translations through its integrated wpLingua API. You request an API key in the extension settings; a separate DeepL or Google Translate plan is not required. Translation data is stored in your website’s database.

Review translations and control what changes
The visual on-page editor lets you revise generated translations in context. Dictionary rules can preserve words or specify how terms should be translated for each language. You can exclude entire pages by URL or leave selected page sections untranslated with CSS selectors.
wpLingua discovers site URLs and presents them as editable slugs, so you can decide which URL parts to translate. Language-specific rules can also change link and media URLs, including picture and iframe URLs and URLs in intercepted JSON.
Prepare translated pages for search
The plugin translates meta title and description tags, hreflang links, social media meta tags for Twitter and OpenGraph, and image ALT attributes. It can also make XML sitemaps multilingual automatically, helping search engines discover the available language versions.
Choose how visitors switch languages
Add the language switcher at a predefined position, place it in a navigation menu, use the Language Switcher block in the Site Editor, or insert it with [wplng_switcher]. Customize its style, theme, displayed language names, and flags, including the option to import flag pictures.
Compatibility and setup
wpLingua is tested with plugins including WooCommerce, Yoast SEO, Elementor, Divi Builder, and Gutenberg, and with themes including Astra and GeneratePress. It is not compatible with WordPress Multisite. Caching is recommended for pages and translations.
