Slideshows are responsive and mobile-friendly by default, for show on mobile devices, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. The plugin is described as optimized for web and server performance, with its HTML markup and front-end and back-end queries considered for speed and search-friendly presentation.
Content and presentation options
Choose the material for a slider, then choose a presentation style and navigation:
- Images and video: Create image or video sliders, responsive carousels, lightbox slideshows, and galleries with thumbnail navigation. The listed options also include Instagram images, Pinterest “Pin It” buttons, and custom HTML slideshows.
- WooCommerce products: Display products by category, price, availability, featured status, or selected products.
- Featured content: Present blog posts, products, testimonials, photo galleries, and other site content.
- PDFs: Showcase presentation slides and other PDF files.
- Image protection: Use the Soliloquy protection addon for supported image-protection needs.
Builder and display controls
Upload images and arrange them by drag and drop. Pre-made themes and templates provide starting points, and custom CSS allows further styling. Default settings can speed up recurring slider projects. Scheduling options let items display at specific time intervals.
Soliloquy slider blocks let you place sliders in the Gutenberg block editor. The available layouts, navigation styles, templates, and content-based sliders can be adapted to various pages.
Common uses
A WooCommerce shop can present products, a designer can build a portfolio carousel, and a photographer can create a photo gallery. A blog can display featured content, while a business can present PDFs or custom HTML. Lightbox viewing and thumbnail navigation can be combined for a more navigable gallery.
