Consistent product images without cropping

Smart Image Resize for WooCommerce Pro fits each product image inside your shop’s target dimensions and centers it in the available space. A background color fills any extra space; white is the default. The full product remains visible, and whitespace trimming can remove empty space around it.

The extension processes WooCommerce product images. Other images are left alone unless category image processing is enabled in settings. This can help stores standardize supplier photos, varied uploads from marketplace vendors, or images across client shops.

Pro processing settings

• Unlimited processing: The processing cap is removed for product images.
• Image formats: Convert PNG files to JPG and generate WebP versions automatically to help reduce file sizes.
• Watermarks: Add your logo to product photos.
• Priority support: Get help through chat or email with priority handling.

Pro also includes automatic resizing for new uploads and bulk processing for images already in the catalog. Whitespace trimming removes empty space around products, and protection against stretching small images helps preserve their appearance.

Set up uploads and existing images

1. Install Smart Image Resize for WooCommerce Pro and activate it.
2. Upload a product image. The add-on starts resizing new product images automatically, with no configuration needed for initial setup.
3. To process existing images, open WooCommerce > Smart Image Resize > Bulk Resize and click Start. The files do not need to be uploaded again.

Adjust image handling

To prevent small source images from being enlarged, enable Disable Upscaling under Settings > Advanced. Other available options are under WooCommerce > Smart Image Resize > Settings.

Compatibility

The plugin works with WooCommerce and themes including Flatsome, Avada, Astra, and OceanWP. It also works alongside Dokan, WCFM, WC Vendors, Smush, ShortPixel, Imagify, EWWW, and page builders.
