Prepare content for expansion

Read More Without Refresh Pro lets visitors reveal or collapse content without reloading the page. Hidden text stays in the initial HTML and remains crawlable by search engines, while the shorter opening view suits articles, product information, and long pages.

For an individual section, add the [read more] shortcode before the content and close it with [/read]. Pro also includes a Gutenberg InnerBlocks block, an Elementor widget, and sitewide automation. It works with Gutenberg and page builders that render shortcodes.

Manage access and reader actions

• Content Lockers can request an email address or social share before revealing content. They integrate with Mailchimp, Brevo, MailPoet, and webhooks, and store leads locally.
• Teaser Paywalls offer a soft mode described as SEO-safe, or a hard mode with a continue-reading prompt for non-members.
• Generate AI summaries with your own OpenAI, Claude, or Gemini key. Each summary is generated once per post rather than once per user.
• The analytics dashboard tracks page and button clicks, unlocks, leads, and CTA conversions. Review daily trends and date ranges, or export data as CSV.
• Test up to five button texts with A/B testing, then apply the winning text with one click. An engaged-user CTA can appear when a reader expands content, with conversions tracked.

Apply sitewide controls

Auto-Apply can collapse long posts, pages, products, and WooCommerce category descriptions without shortcodes. Auto-Collapse Sections can turn H2 and H3 headings into accordions and create a table of contents with deep links. Global Content Blocks let you write details such as shipping, size, or returns information once and reuse them across pages.

Presentation settings include 20 button templates, nine animation types, accordion and FAQ modes with schema, conditional display rules, Font Awesome and Google Fonts options, advanced styling, configurable smooth-scroll offsets, deep linking, remembered state, and an Expand/Collapse All option using [read_all]. Pro also includes Truncate Mode, GDPR Mode, options import and export, and lazy loading that loads heavy hidden content when expanded.

Check accessibility and tracking

Accessibility features include ARIA support, keyboard navigation with Enter and Space, and screen-reader support. The plugin also includes sanitization, avoids inline JavaScript, and can automatically expand content for printing.

When gtag is present, GA4 events can fire automatically. The rmwr:expand JavaScript event can be used with GTM or custom scripts. Cache-proof tracking is described as working with WP Rocket and Cloudflare.
