Local processing in the media library
QuickWebP Pro processes images on your server as you work in the WordPress media library. It compresses JPG and PNG uploads and creates WebP output using the native WordPress picture editor and the best available server backend. Image processing does not require an external compression API.
WebP uploads and AVIF support
QuickWebP Pro includes the capabilities available in QuickWebP Free and adds AVIF conversion and stronger compression. AVIF conversion requires a supported server running PHP 8.1 or later. AVIF files can be smaller than JPG and PNG files and are typically smaller than WebP. Automatic fallback helps older browsers receive a compatible image format.
Controls for image handling
Set maximum width and height values to resize oversized uploads. Filename cleanup and metadata pre-fill help prepare media library entries as part of the upload process.
- Pre-fill alt text, caption, description, legend, and title fields.
- Paste a picture from the clipboard into the WordPress media frame.
- Review optimization information in the settings screen.
- Bulk-optimize older media when the original files have been preserved.
Configure, upload, and review
Install and activate QuickWebP Pro, then open its settings to select image dimensions and optimization preferences. Upload JPG or PNG files through the media library; the plugin applies the configured settings and creates WebP output. On a supported server running PHP 8.1 or later, it can also make AVIF output. Use the settings screen to review optimization information, and use bulk optimization for older media when its original files are preserved.
