Start with images selected from the Media Library or uploaded in the editor. The base block includes responsive Grid and Polaroid layouts, a lightbox popup, and options for columns, spacing, titles, subtitles, dates and responsive typography.
Layouts for image collections
- Masonry arranges images at varied heights.
- Dynamic Motion adds movement to the gallery presentation.
- 3D Parallax gives the layout a depth-focused effect.
- Hexagonal layouts arrange images in a geometric grid.
- Interactive 3D Image Sliders include navigation controls for browsing images.
Media Highlights Story Albums use a separate format: they group photos and videos into swipeable stories that play automatically in a full-screen viewer.
Organize and style gallery entries
Drag images into the order you want. Group images into named albums and enable a clickable filter bar so visitors can filter the gallery by album. Bulk import lets you choose several images from the Media Library at once.
Pro overlay effects have adjustable colors, margins and padding. Card controls cover borders, corner radius and width, while button and element settings let you adjust placement and alignment. Global container controls include backgrounds, margins and padding. The block also has gradients, shadows and hover effects.
Other gallery settings include optional text or logo watermarks on thumbnails or lightbox images, with controls for position, opacity and color. The lightbox toolbar can show fullscreen, download and share or copy-link buttons, along with an image counter. Thumbnail crops include Square, 4:3, 16:9, 3:2 and 9:16 ratios. Load More pagination can reveal additional images on request, and an optional setting prevents visitors from right-clicking gallery images.
Add a gallery to a page
Open a page or post in the WordPress block editor, add the Image Gallery block, then upload or select images from the Media Library. Add titles or subtitles, choose a Pro layout in the block settings, and drag images into the desired order. Adjust overlays, cards, buttons and the container, preview the gallery on different devices, then publish.
For a reusable gallery, make and publish it in the Image Gallery editor, then copy its shortcode to place it in a widget, page-builder row or theme template. Editing the gallery updates each place where that shortcode is used. Block scripts load only on pages that use the block, and the extension is translation ready for multilingual websites.
