Keep PDFs with the page they support

PDF Embedder Premium displays documents inside WordPress posts, pages, and custom post types, so users can read them without leaving your content. The responsive viewer uses a PDF's natural dimensions or a width you pick, then adjusts to the available browser space. Readers can move between pages with Next and Previous controls and zoom in to inspect details.

Use it for menus and price lists, ebooks, guides and reports, catalogs and brochures, newsletters, manuals, course materials, event programs, portfolios, and other PDF resources. Choose files from the Media Library or another folder on your website, and embed unlimited PDFs. A remotely hosted file can also work from a direct PDF link when its host allows other websites to fetch it.

Add and configure a viewer

In the Block Editor, add the PDF Embedder block, select a file, and preview the document while editing. In the Classic Editor or a page builder, use the shortcode. The Elementor widget includes the block's settings and a live preview in the Elementor editor. Set shared defaults such as width and toolbar position in the plugin options; individual block or shortcode settings can override them.

Give readers more ways to use a PDF

Premium adds a toolbar download button, working links within the PDF and to other pages, continuous scrolling, and a jump-to-page control. Visitors can search the PDF's full text from the toolbar and move to matching pages. On mobile, when the document renders narrower than a width you set, a full-screen viewing option lets readers focus on the document and swipe between pages.

Features by plan

The Pro plan adds secure viewing and watermarks for documents on pages protected by membership or e-commerce extensions. Secure viewing encrypts the PDF during transmission, making the original more difficult for casual users to save or print. Watermarks overlay identifying text, such as a user's name or email address, to discourage screenshot sharing.

The Elite plan adds automatic PDF thumbnails. PDFs in the Media Library receive an picture thumbnail that can be used as a featured image, a clickable download link, or the file icon in the Media Library.

Use PDFs in member pages and courses

Because the viewer uses a regular block or shortcode, you can place it in content controlled by membership, e-commerce, or course extensions. This includes pages restricted with MemberPress, Paid Memberships Pro, Restrict Content Pro, or WooCommerce Memberships, and course materials in LearnDash, LifterLMS, or Tutor LMS. Add a sample chapter to a product page, deliver an ebook through your chosen purchase workflow, or embed several PDFs on one page as a document library.

View and download tracking helps you see which documents visitors read.

Set up an embed

Upload a PDF to the Media Library or use a direct link to a hosted PDF, then add the PDF Embedder block or shortcode to a post or page. Select the document, adjust its display settings, and publish. Configure shared defaults in the PDF Embedder settings, then enable the plan functions your documents need.
