Manage folders and files
- Create folders, then drag files between folders to move or copy them. Rename and delete files, and delete empty folders.
- Folders cannot be moved or renamed directly. Create a new folder and move the files into it; during file moves, matching media links in standard posts and pages are updated.
- Sync files uploaded or moved through FTP with the Media Library. Sync checks the current folder, so sync subfolders individually.
- Search by file or folder name, or use File Name View Mode to find pictures in very large folders.
- Regenerate thumbnails for selected media and set image ALT and TITLE attributes during upload.
- Organize folders with categories. Enhanced Media Library and Media Library Folders Pro categories are interchangeable.
The add-on also works with Advanced Custom Fields and multisite installations.
Use media in editors, galleries, and products
From the editor, MLF integration lets users choose and add images to posts and pages. Create MaxGalleria or NextGEN galleries directly from MLF folders, or add images to a WooCommerce product gallery.
Restrict direct access to selected media
The Pro edition includes Block Direct Access controls to restrict access to Media Library files, show a customized no-access page, block Google Search from indexing media files, and prevent hotlinking. Additional controls can disable copying and right-click actions, generate and limit private URLs, and restrict private URLs by IP address.
To activate the capability, open the Block Direct Access tab in Pro settings and enable it. Activation makes a protected-content folder. On Apache sites, it also updates the site's .htaccess file to make that folder inaccessible to internet users. Nginx and IIS sites require manual server-configuration changes as described in the add-on instructions.
