A related-content list is built by matching a post’s title or content, with support for tags, categories and selected custom fields. Contextual Related Posts Pro lets WordPress publishers adjust how those matches are ranked, stored and displayed.

Adjust what counts as related

Set the weight given to titles, content and excerpts, then refine results with taxonomy weighting. The Related Posts and CRP Query Loop blocks can use a chosen word or phrase as a keyword override in place of the current post’s title and content. Optional recency weighting has a configurable boost and half-life, and is disabled by default.

Related lists can include posts, pages, attachments and other custom post types. Exclude selected categories or tags, manage related content at the individual post level, and feature Cornerstone Posts in recommendation lists.

Choose where lists appear

Display recommendations in the content area or place them with a block, widget or the [crp] shortcode. Advanced block layouts include the Query Loop Block and patterns such as Grid and Image with Title. Extra shortcode parameters provide more control over the output.

When lazy loading is enabled, JavaScript loads related posts as they approach the viewport. This works with content, shortcode, widget and block displays, and with page caching add-ons. UTM tracking parameters can be added to related-post clicks to measure how visitors use recommendations.

Manage storage and query load

Use custom tables and database indices for content storage and indexing. Cache duration is configurable from one hour to one year. A server-load threshold can prevent related-post queries when the database is under heavy load, while bot protection can skip known bots and crawlers using an extensible signature list.

Configure WooCommerce recommendations

For product-related output, configure prices and ratings, then select whether recommendations replace or complement WooCommerce related products. Matching can use SKUs and attributes, filter by stock status, and draw on product categories.

Cart Related Products can suggest products priced within the difference between the cart total and the free-shipping threshold. Matching starts from the most expensive entry in the cart. Set the price band, product count, heading and cart-page hook position.

Handle administration with WP-CLI

WP-CLI commands cover database management, index-status checks, post-meta migration, cache clearing and warming, custom-table operations, content processing and FULLTEXT index management. Cache commands support multisite installations, and bulk processing and network commands support administrative workflows.

After installing and activating the add-on in WordPress, configure matching, caching, display and exclusions. Choose automatic placement or add recommendations manually with a block, widget or shortcode; set WooCommerce settings, tracking parameters and storage settings to fit the site.
