Code Snippets Pro for WordPress Snippet Management
Code Snippets Pro extends a WordPress dashboard for creating, organizing, previewing, and managing custom code. The base add-on supports PHP snippets and reusable HTML content. PHP snippets can execute everywhere, in administration only, or on the front end; manually confirmed run-once snippets are available for one-time tasks.
Keep WordPress code in manageable snippets
Code Snippets Pro extends a WordPress dashboard for creating, organizing, previewing, and managing custom code. The base add-on supports PHP snippets and reusable HTML content. PHP snippets can execute everywhere, in administration only, or on the front end; manually confirmed run-once snippets are available for one-time tasks.
Local snippets are stored separately from theme files, so switching themes or updating WordPress does not remove them. Code that depends on a particular theme or add-on may still need changes when that dependency changes.
Organize and control snippets
Use names, descriptions, tags, search, filters, sorting, and bulk actions to manage your collection. Table and card views, code previews, snippet locking, and a Stats overview help you review what is stored and active. Stats include totals and breakdowns by type, run location, and tags.
PHP snippets can be activated individually and assigned an execution scope. On multisite, network-wide snippets and individual website snippets are available; network snippets must be activated or shared with the appropriate settings to run where intended.
Code types and utilities in Pro
- CSS and JavaScript snippet types, with integrations for Gutenberg and Elementor.
- An AI Agent that takes a description of the desired functionality, presents a plan to review and refine, then generates code after approval. Review generated snippets before activating them.
- Snippet revisions for comparing earlier code with the current version and restoring a previous revision.
- A visual display-condition editor for choosing where and when snippets run.
- Blueprints that generate PHP for common tasks such as custom post types, taxonomies, shortcodes, settings pages, and extra visitor profile fields.
- Role-based permissions for viewing, creating, editing, and deleting snippets.
- A “Ran on this page” view in the admin bar for snippets that executed or produced output on the current request.
- Optional PHP execution-time tracking and advisory checks for potentially risky code patterns. These checks are not a security audit and do not guarantee that code is safe.
The free plugin includes interactive demos of selected Pro workflows. Using the full tools requires Pro access.
Move snippets and use Cloud workflows
Export one snippet or several from the snippet management screen, then import the export file on another website. PHP snippets can also be exported as a PHP file with their code, names, and descriptions in comments for use without the plugin. Review an exported file before including it in a theme or plugin.
You can browse Community Cloud snippets inside WordPress, preview their code, and download types supported by your edition. A Cloud account is not required to create and run local PHP and HTML snippets. A personal Cloud library, synchronization, and deployment to connected sites require a connected account and the relevant Pro access. Cloud drift reporting shows when site and Cloud copies differ.
Setup and recovery
Install and activate the plugin in WordPress, then use its snippet interface to add code and manage each snippet. Safe Mode can prevent snippet execution while you investigate a snippet-related failure; it does not prevent every error. PHP snippets execute on your site, so review code and keep a current backup before activation.
If you want stored snippets and plugin settings removed when deleting the plugin, enable Complete Uninstall in the advanced settings first. Export snippets you want to keep.
