Announcement bars for WordPress
Bulletin is a WordPress add-on for displaying announcements across a site or WooCommerce shop. Use it for sale offers, shop notices, event countdowns, emergency announcements, cookie notices, product updates, or news about a new section.
The base extension supports unlimited bulletins with markdown and emoji. Bulletin Pro includes more ways to control placement, audience, timing, interaction, and appearance.
Choose a display and style
Create messages for desktop and mobile, then set background and text colors, content width, alignment, and font size. Bulletin can display a bar in the header, a floating bar at the bottom of the screen, or a sticky footer. Pro adds a corner display type, custom icons, Google Fonts, and CSS for individual bulletins. Custom CSS can help position a message around a fixed header or other interface components.
Use the Customizer support to adjust the base plugin’s settings. Markdown and emoji are available in bulletin content.
When page and audience rules apply
Pro placement settings let you select pages for a bulletin. You can also set display conditions based on the URL or visitor, including showing a notice only to logged-in customers. WordPress Network support lets you specify a bulletin for display across all subsites.
For visitors who should be able to dismiss a notice, enable the close icon and set how long it stays hidden.
For messages with actions or an end time
Add a button that links to another destination or triggers a JavaScript event. Button effects can add motion. A bulletin can contain multiple messages that rotate or run in a marquee style.
For a time-limited offer, event, launch, or notice, Pro delivers a live countdown, scheduling, and expiry controls. Set these options when the message needs to start or end at a particular time.
Set up and preview a bulletin
- Install Bulletin in WordPress and activate the Pro edition.
- Create a bulletin and enter its message.
- Choose its display position, colors, typography, icon, and optional button.
- Set any additional messages, page or user conditions, schedule, countdown, or expiry.
- Preview the bulletin, publish it, and adjust its CSS if it overlaps another interface element.
Normal setup does not require coding. If the bulletin conflicts with a theme element, custom CSS may help; a developer may be useful for that adjustment.
