When should the store close?
Create unlimited vacation periods and plan holidays or seasonal breaks months ahead. A calendar shows upcoming, active, and past closures. Recurring weekday rules cover regular days off and custom weekly patterns. Configure Opening Hours to close the shop automatically outside the hours you set. For an immediate pause, use Force Close without creating a schedule. You can copy Conditions between schedules to reuse availability rules.
A countdown timer in the vacation notice can show the time remaining until reopening. Admin reminder emails can be sent before a vacation starts, and a dashboard widget shows upcoming closures.
What can shoppers do while checkout is closed?
When enabled, cart building lets shoppers continue adding products during a closure. Save Cart for Later lets customers save a cart and restore it with one click when the store reopens. They can copy, bookmark, or share a signed cart link across devices. Logged-in customers can also email their saved-cart link from the storefront.
Conditions can keep selected entries purchasable during a closure. Exclusions can be set by product, category, tag, product type, shipping class, WooCommerce brand, or user role. Store Vacation Pro can keep product exclusions and closure Conditions aligned across storefront, cart, and checkout behavior. You can also choose whether orders placed during an active closure receive a contextual private order note.
How can shipping and checkout behave during a closure?
Hide selected shipping methods for individual Schedule or Weekday closures. Vacation Shipping Options can have their own name, cost, applicable zones, and checkout description. Choose whether an option appears in WooCommerce order emails and apply it to all closures, selected schedules, or selected weekday closures. You can also control how Free Shipping works while vacation shipping rules are active.
Checkout Protection can force-close checkout when unusual order activity meets configured rapid-order, same-IP, or payment-failure thresholds within rolling time windows. Protection can clear automatically or manually. You can show a reusable customer notice and receive administrator emails when protection is triggered. Trigger and clear events appear in Vacation Reports.
What will customers see?
Use a website-wide announcement bar or show advance notice before a closure so customers have time to order. Vacation notices support reusable templates, smart tags, rich text, calls to action, custom styling, and a countdown. They can appear on WooCommerce shop and product pages, or be placed with the Store Vacation Notice block, Elementor widget, or [woo_store_vacation] shortcode.
The Vacation Content block displays custom content only while vacation mode is active. You can replace shop pages with custom content, password-protect shop access with a shared password, or make private access links for approved customers. Approved visitors can bypass restrictions and purchase normally while the rest of the store remains paused. Other controls can conceal prices, add-to-cart buttons, and mini carts during vacation mode.
What can you review after a closure?
The Vacation Reports dashboard includes events, completed checkouts, revenue, unique customers, an activity chart, a Recent Activity table, and a Top Products breakdown. Track cart additions and removals, quantity changes, saved-cart emails, completed checkouts, and vacation shipping activity. Filter reports by date range and vacation period, then export Recent Activity to CSV. Larger exports are handled in batches.
Set data retention rules to remove older report data automatically. Clearing report data does not remove orders, saved carts, or vacation settings. Vacation orders can also be tracked from the WooCommerce Orders screen.
How is the closure setup managed?
An optional WordPress admin-bar badge shows whether the store is open, closed, or in Checkout Protection. A Behavior summary describes the customer-facing experience configured in the settings. Import or export settings between stores, or use the REST API to work with vacation schedules programmatically.
Permission-checked WordPress Abilities API actions can discover and manage Store Vacation status, Force Close, schedules, recurring weekday closures, Opening Hours, notices, and Vacation Shipping Options. The integration condition API lets compatible extensions evaluate vacation state, closure type, checkout availability, and mixed-cart availability.
