JSON Content Importer PRO: Turn API Data into WordPress Content
JSON Content Importer PRO connects WordPress to external REST APIs and prepares returned JSON, XML, CSV, or TXT data for display. Use shortcodes, the JCI Block, or PHP to add API results to your site.

Load API data and use it in WordPress
Enter an API URL, load and inspect the response, then save the connection as an API-Access-Set. Use that saved set to make a shortcode or access it through PHP. Alternatively, enter an API URL in the JCI Block to query the API and review its response. The block's template generator helps structure the output.
Add a shortcode or block to a page, post, or Custom Post Type (CPT), then format the returned data for display. API-Access-Sets also support direct code integration in PHP.
Templates and search forms
PRO includes the Twig template engine, supports templates stored independently from pages, and adds shortcode parameters and the ability to execute shortcodes inside a template. You can also create a search form connected to a JSON API. Submitted GET values can be passed into a dynamic JSON feed URL, allowing search inputs to shape the API request.
- Create and use Custom Post Types for API-powered content.
- Use Twig to create data templates.
- Pass search form values to a JSON API through GET variables.
- Use API-Access-Sets in PHP or shortcode output in templates.
Forms, caching, and output settings
Contact Form 7 integration can populate forms with JSON data and forward submitted form data to an API. The JCI cacher helps avoid repeated API requests. Basic settings include settings for SSL, caching, Gutenberg, and authentication.
HTML in shortcode and block output is filtered by default to remove potentially dangerous code. If a display requires additional HTML, the advanced allowed-HTML setting lets you specify tags or attributes to retain.
Set up a connection
Enter an API URL to load and inspect its response, save it as an API-Access-Set, then use the saved connection in a shortcode or PHP. You can also query an API from the JCI Block, review the response, and generate a template for its fields. Place the resulting shortcode or block in your content and adjust the output for your project.
