Ad Inserter Pro manages configured advertising and other code in WordPress blocks. Use it for Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager, Media.net, Infolinks, and rotating banners, as well as opt-in forms, analytics and tracking code, images, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. The block contains the code; its placement options determine where that code appears.

Choose placement by content or page structure

Automatic rules can place blocks before or after posts, content, paragraphs, images, comments, or excerpts. Target random or multiple paragraphs, or place blocks between posts, excerpts, or comments. For layout-based placement, use relative positions, CSS selectors, the visual HTML element selector, or the DOM explorer. Gutenberg blocks and custom WordPress hooks provide further placement options.

Manual insertion is available through widgets, shortcodes, or PHP function calls. Custom fields, post titles, tags, and categories can help select contextual adverts.

Manage website code and ad presentation

Place code in the page head, after the opening body tag, or in the footer. The plugin can also insert raw HTTP response header lines and add code to feeds or Ajax, RSS, and REST requests. Configure various ad code for AMP pages.

Code preview, syntax highlighting, and a visual CSS editor help with adjustments. A visual advert editor and code generators support creating adverts, banners, and placeholders. Custom alignments, styles, wrapping classes, and ad labels control presentation. You can also use shortcodes from other plugins, edit ads.txt, and set GDPR consent checks, including support for the IAB TCF 2.0 consent API.

For advertising, the plugin can detect, hide, or replace blank AdSense blocks. It also works with fixed widgets and sticky sidebars, floating banners, and sticky ad bars. Ad blocking detection can display a message or redirect visitors; Pro also includes ad blocking statistics and options to replace ads or protect content.

Pro targeting and campaign controls

Geolocation can use internal or MaxMind databases and works with caching. Target visitors by country, state, region, or city, and block or allow IP addresses, countries, or cities. Device detection supports server-side and client-side operation with caching.

Schedule ads by date and time with a fallback option. Ad rotation can run on the server or client and works with caching. A/B testing compares adverts or settings, while frequency capping limits impressions or clicks. Click fraud protection can use reCAPTCHA v3 score checks to hide ads from invalid traffic. Ad scripts can load after a visitor interacts with the website, or load lazily as the page is scrolled.

Impression and click statistics are available for JavaScript adverts, including iframe-based adverts such as Google AdSense. Reports for clients can be prepared as PDFs or public web pages.

Configure and check placements

Add advertising or other code to blocks, pick insertion positions or a manual method, then set any targeting rules and exclusions. Use the preview and debugging tools to inspect inserted blocks and available positions. Ad Inserter inserts the code you configure; with AdSense Auto ads, the ad code selects the actual ad locations. After saving, check the page source and the displayed placements.
