Post Views Counter Pro: Reports and Cached-Page Counting
Post Views Counter Pro extends Post Views Counter with tools for counting and using view data inside WordPress. A View is counted for selected content according to your options. A Visit starts with a browser’s first counted view and includes later counted content views within the fixed Count Interval. Those views can add to individual content totals without starting another Visit or extending the interval. Visits are site-wide totals, while Views belong to posts and other selected content.
Views measure content; Visits measure site activity
Post Views Counter Pro extends Post Views Counter with tools for counting and using view data inside WordPress. A View is counted for selected content according to your options. A Visit starts with a browser’s first counted view and includes later counted content views within the fixed Count Interval. Those views can add to individual content totals without starting another Visit or extending the interval. Visits are site-wide totals, while Views belong to posts and other selected content.
Views and Visits are stored as aggregate totals on your server. The Count Interval uses a first-party cookie to help limit repeat counts; Pro also offers cookieless browser storage. Its optional Strict Counts feature caches IP-derived data associated with content and timestamps to limit repeat counts.
Choose counting and show settings
Select the post types to count and use PHP, JavaScript, or REST API counting. Pro adds fast AJAX counting, caching compatibility, and dynamic loading. PHP mode counts while WordPress builds a page, so a cached page served without running WordPress may not be counted. JavaScript and REST API modes count from the user’s browser. With a compatible mode selected, Pro can count through cached pages and refresh displayed totals.
Set the Count Interval, choose which users to exclude, and decide where counts appear. The interval is a fixed window for repeat counts and defaults to 24 hours. Exclusions can cover bots, logged-in users, selected roles, or specific IP addresses. Counts can display automatically or through a block, shortcode, or PHP function. You can also adjust a post’s Views manually.
Reports connect totals to editorial decisions
Pro reports display Views by date, post, and author, with Visits included in aggregate date reports. Customizable Views Period settings let you focus counts on a timeframe such as the last 7 or 30 days. Dashboard insights and email summaries include Visit trends and Views per Visit, while Performance Insights explain changes in a post’s Views.
Traffic reports group activity by referrer, device, browser, operating system, and language. Views are also available for taxonomy terms, authors, and other archives. Export data as CSV or XML to download or share it. Supported builder integrations let you order content by Views in Elementor Pro, Divi, and GenerateBlocks.
Use counts across WordPress
The Dashboard includes statistics and Top Posts widgets, and the administration area has a sortable Post Views column. Content can be queried and ordered by Views, and custom REST API endpoints are available for working with view data. The extension is Multisite compatible, works with WPML and Polylang, and includes a translation-ready POT file. You can import existing data in one step from WP-PostViews, Statify, or Page Views Count.
Install and activate the extension, choose content types and a counting mode, then configure exclusions, the Count Interval, and display settings. Use the Dashboard and Pro reports to review the resulting counts; export data or apply Views-based ordering where supported. A Pro license includes one year of updates and premium support through the dedicated support channel after you log in to your account.
