When a store needs a payment method without its own WooCommerce gateway, Custom Payment Gateways for WooCommerce Pro lets you configure manual or offline options such as bank transfers, local wallets, and in-person payments. Custom gateways also work with WooCommerce Checkout Blocks.
Each gateway connects three parts of the order flow: the payment details clients see, the information they submit, and the rules that determine when the option appears.
Set up the checkout experience
Choose a title, description, and icon for each gateway. Add instructions to the checkout and order emails to explain how customers can complete a manual payment. Pro supports unlimited gateways and additional placeholders for instructions and custom URLs.
To collect payment details, add multiple input fields beneath the payment options on the WooCommerce Checkout page. Pro lets you create unlimited checkout fields for details such as a payment reference or note.
Connect checkout to order follow-up
Choose the default order status after checkout, set a custom return URL for the thank-you page, and trigger additional emails when needed. These options let each payment option follow its own order communication flow.
You can also configure multiple fees or discounts to adjust the order total.
Set gateway availability rules
Enable a gateway for selected shipping methods, and set minimum and maximum order amounts. A gateway can be hidden below its minimum or when the order amount exceeds its maximum. Virtual and downloadable products are supported as well.
These settings cover workflows such as offering a bank transfer for certain deliveries, collecting a reference at checkout, or applying a payment-specific fee or discount.
Configure a payment process
Create a gateway, enter its customer-facing details and instructions, then set any checkout fields, fees or discounts, order status, return URL, and availability rules it needs. Review how the option appears at checkout and adjust the settings for each manual payment method.
